The Held Sixty-6 waxed cotton motorcycle jacket |
First impressions of the Held Sixty-6 jacket (the name comes from Held's Sixty Six years of protecting bikers) were great, the fit was great, the look was even better- very up to the minute, retro yet modern, perfect.
It's often the unwritten things that make a difference to us all when using our bike gear- stuff that doesn't make the catalogue- I like the comfy cord collar, that big pockets on the front with press-studs and the tartan interior :) It's definitely windproof and waterproof- I've managed to wear mine through 3 of the 4 seasons before upgrading to proper winter kit! For Spring, Summer and Autumn though I've found it perfect.
Comfy collar! |
Below: The Sixty-6 being put through its paces at just 6 degrees celsius. With a t-shirt and a fleecy hoody undernearth it was warm enough!
The Held Sixty-6 jacket- in Black & Beige and Khaki too |
It comes with decent elbow and should protectors (see below) and I've upgraded the back protection with a Held Quattrotempi SAS-TEC back protector (£29.99), nipping off the bottom with a knife to give it the perfect fit. (Also see below)
I always like to have a close look at the protection |
Designed for longer Held garments I sliced a couple of inches off the bottom of the Quattrotempi SAS-TEC protector from Held to give it the perfect fit for this jacket |
Here's our official word on the jacket:
Waxed cotton outer shell
100% polyester inner lining
Waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane (100% polyester with 100% polyurethane coating)
EN 1621-1 CE-certified soft protectors at shoulders & elbows
special foam padding at back
Optional EN 1621-2 back protector
Hip adjustment
Soft collar
4 external pockets
3 inner pockets
Connecting zip
It comes in other colours too- here's a picture collage I made to give you a real visual insight into this jacket:
The Held Sixty-6 jacket- would really look great on any style of bike |
