This is certainly the best airbag system GetGeared has ever seen! The waistcoat is very well constructed and serves well alone, it will certainly last your journeys! There is SaS-tec protection in the back and coccyx, which obviously gives you maximum safety when combined with the airbag.
The idea is: You attach the strap from the vest to underneath your seat - Held have completed lots of tests as to why it should not be attached to your handlebar. When the force of 30Kg is applied - on impact (that means it won't go off if you accidentally get off the bike and don't undo yourself) then the airbag inflates in 0.1 seconds.
It is awesomely quick, but to you that means by the time you hit the ground, it would have started deflating so that you don't feel like you are hitting concrete. You can buy replaceable air canisters - very easy to change, and straps if you have more than one bike so you don't have to keep un-connecting.
